About Me
I graduated from the 17th Corps. I married Dave Deters from the 18th Way Corps in 1991 at The Way International. We served on Staff at The Way International until 1998. Then we served on Staff at Camp Gunnison from 1998 to 2003. We moved to Grand Junction, CO in 2003 and we run a Household Fellowship. We have three children -- Jessica who is 13, Joe who is 8 and Ben who is 6.
My Interests
I love swimming, reading, and playing with my kids.
Employment or Career
I have my college degree in Accounting but while on Staff at TWI I worked in Publications. At Gunnison I was in Finance. In Grand Junction I did a little bit of work with H&R Block, but now stay at home and do the books for Dave's business which is Ambassador Blind N' Shutter, Inc.
Music I Like
Josh Groban, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Avril Lavigne and the Way Productions from the 70's - Joyful Noise, Pressed Down, 6th Way Corps and the 80's Acts 29.
Books I Like
I enjoy the Bible, of course. I also enjoy Joel Osteen's books. Some of my favorite authors are Nelson DeMille and John Grisham. More and more I find myself reading some of the books that my children read, so I know what they are reading. Right now I am reading Al Capone Does My Shirts. I have also read Eclipse, Twilight, and New Moon and The Uglies, The Pretties, and The Specials. If you have a teen (especially a girl) you may have heard of those. With my second grader we are reading Magic Treehouse. So you can see it is quite diverse.
Television I like
My favorite is 24. I also enjoy the reality TV like Survivor, Big Brother, Dancing With the Stars, The Biggest Loser. I never watched Friends, but recently acquired the full 10 seasons and am slowly working trhough that.
Movies I like
Don't get to do this very often unless it's a kids movie.
Sports Teams I like
Grew up with the Oakland A's and Oakland Raiders. Loved them back then. Now live close to Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, but I don't really have a favorite.

Love you much,

So good to see you! I remember you well from our time together at HQ, and they are great memories. You were always a sweet balm to my heart. You are a wonderful woman and I'm glad to be able to reconnect with you through this site. It's great to have a "meeting place" isn't it? I grew up w/the same sports teams you did, and enjoy the same music. Gosh how I miss hearing those 'gospel songs in the evening' from Pressed Down! Take care and enjoy those beautiful kids!
God bless you ~
Chere
I was so glad to hear from you. I often thought about you guys up in the High Country and wondered if you were still at Gunnison.
So you have three kids now--awesome! Russ and I never had kids. We have a dog, a Sheltie named Sheba, and she is almost as demanding as a kid. Talk about a diva! It's all about her! She's still a puppy though, so we're hoping she will mellow out someday...
Yes, I'm still involved with dance. I work for the Sarasota Ballet overseeing an education program for at-risk youth. It's pretty demanding and challenging, but every once in a while somebody actually says thank you, and that almost makes it worth it! You can check out the website sarasotaballet.org and look under education for more specifics.
Russ and I are still in sunny Florida but are ready for a change. We just got back from an extended weekend in New York City, and it was so exciting! I was ready to move back! First, however, we need to land Russ a job, so we'll see what happens.
Good to hear from you. We'll talk again soon,
Lisa T.
Sure if you hear of where they are and they don't mind I would love to send pics of the kids.
Thanks,
Cindy
Any ideas where Steve and Roseann Daniel are? Still at HQ? Just wondering...
Thanks -
