Hi Mary -- great to hear you are doing well -- its been a long time! I remember Mrs. W. always called me Mary because she thought we looked like twins! Love Renee
Mary,
Great hearing from you, where are you living these days? What are
you doing? We are in Florida, and also travel a lot and have two
grown children and no pets.
What a delightful surprise to hear from you. This website has been a remarkable blessing. I too have thought of you and the wonderful experiences at Camp Gunnison and other places where our paths crossed. On my webpage is a recording of some of my poetry. One of the poems I recite is "Sunrise" which was written after a number of the Corps at Gunnison sat and watched the sun come up and bathe the mountainside in purple splendor. At that moment I understood the line from "America, the Beautiful": "For purple mountain majesty. . . " It was one of a series of unforgettable experiences that occurred at Camp Gunnison while we were there.
You asked about Brenda and the girls, all of whom are doing well. Melissa recently moved to Atlanta where she has started a marketing consulting business. Check out her websites: www.velvetsuitemarketing. com and www.brandmelive.com. You will understand in part why we are so proud of her and her accomplishments. Angela returned last year from Baltimore where she taught middle school language arts before coming back to Charlotte, NC where she had previously taught after graduating from Johnson C. Smith University, an historically black institution. She plans to be with us this weekend, but the friend she was bringing home with her may be called to Atlanta because of an uncle who is critically ill at this point. We are trusting that God will work everything out.
By the way, I've published a couple of books of my own, in addition to a number of books by others that I have published. In fact, Melissa has written a book that is currently in press that I am also publishing through my business, Ambassador Press. Check out my website: www.ambassadorpressllc.com. Much of this information is on my Way Corps webpage.
So, Ms. Mary, how's everything with you. Your job sound wonderfully rewarding and satisfying for you. I sense that such is job is custom-designed for a compassionate person such as you. I imagine that you like it. I'm sure much has happened since we last communicated which has probably been 20 years or more. Certainly we can't possible catch up on everything that has happened, but overall I can say without a doubt that God is good, and He has been so very good to me. At times I am overwhelmed. Don't start me to preachin'. . .
I just wanted to dash off a quick response to let you know that I am so pleased to hear from you. Now that we've reconnected, let's keep in touch.
