About Me
Married to Jeff Nicely since 1982, one daughter, Vicki, in high school
My Interests
Sometimes I feel I don't really have time for interests other than work and trying to keep our household fed and clean! But I do like to sew and do some arts and crafts. I would love to take ballroom and swing dance lessons sometime!
Employment or Career
Guest Services person at a grocery store, which is close by and good for me right now.
Music I Like
Almost everything!!! Classical (my parents played Bach, Handel and all the classics while growing up-I now finally really, really enjoy it), oldies-from my era (60s, 70s-still love James Taylor, 80s) and big band jazz, Frank Sinatra, etc., some secular Christian music, and I still enjoy listening to old believer Way music (it used to make me cry 'cause I missed everyone and so many of the good things we shared in The Way, but now I can listen to it and appreciate not only the Word of God shared in it but the incredible talent of the performers. I listen to the music my daughter likes, some I enjoy, some I don't. Thankfully she likes most of the music I like!
Books I Like
The B-I-B-L-E, yes that's still the book for me! Self help books-relationships, how to do stuff, etc. Sometimes I'll read a book on the Oprah reading list or something else that looks interesting. Lately I like to read the books my daughter is reading for pre-AP English as I have never read some of them before and can somewhat discuss them with her. The Good Earth/ Pearl Buck (one of my favorites), Night/Elie Wiesel, The Forbidden City/William Bell. I really should read books more than I do. I seem to gravitate toward magazines like Good Housekeeping more often.
Television I like
We are sort of television rats here. Jeff knows so much trivia about history, tv, movies, and all the people involved, that it always interesting to watch something with him. PBS, Masterpiece Theatre, The History Channel, Turner Classic Movies, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, new comedies like Ugly Betty, dramas like CSI, Grey's Anatomy, The Food Network, old I Love Lucy reruns, the weather channel and some news. Sometimes we watch Joel Osteen, a TV "preacher" on Sundays if we don't go to fellowship or have one ourselves. I feel he teaches some uplifting and challenging principles from the Word of God.
Movies I like
Mostly old classic movies such with stars like John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, etc. My favorites are musicals and dance movies: Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Rogers and Hammerstein musicals, etc. My daughter just tried out fort the high school musical-Oklahoma! and we just bought that on DVD. I rarely go to movies, mostly hear about them from Vicki or watch them on DVD when she orJeff buys them. But Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was great, and I even like flicks like The Bourne Ultimatum. Recently I watched Jane Eyre on Masterpiece Theatre and loved it.
Sports Teams I like
I just perephirally follow sports. Since I was originally from Cleveland and still have family there I cheer for their teams: The Cleveland Cavaliers (basketball), Browns (football) and Indians (baseball). Sometimes I like to watch tennis or iceskating for a bit.

Regarding our friends from our first Twig in residence, I've seen Phyl Hoffman (?)'s website and Facebook page, but haven't contacted her yet. I THINK she was in our group with Paul and Anna Cooper. I've seen Anna's Facebook page, too, but haven't heard from her since I wrote(?) to her. Eduardo diNoto (sic?) not heard directly from him since at least 1988, if then.
Tell me a little about Jeff and his Army experience. Didn't he go to the Language School? Then what? Did he stay in after his first enlistment?
Details. Details. Please.
Very glad to know you and Jeff are still together. So many of my friends over the years are not.
You may have seen the same thing.
I'll email you some more pictures of me & Fran & family if you email me direct at clecount@gmail.com.
I'm working at our local Lowe's store, in the Hardware Dept. having fun trying to make customers laugh,
or at least smile, when I talk to them.
I've got to be at work at 6 am tomorrow, and so can't really write very much to you, right now.
(Can't remember if I posted any recent pictures here. I did on Facebook. And you can be my friend there, if you use that website.)
So, here's one from this past Christmas Day. Probably too much detail, teeth, blemishes and bald head and all. Love you.

Soooo great to hear from you!!! Yes, I would love to stop by Columbus sometime and see you and all the folks you mentioned. Just don't know when I will get up there to Cleveland. Hopefully this summer. Say Hi to anyone I might know.
I think back with a big smile on our time in Cedar Rapids with the "gang". By the way, I looked at your messages to Jeff Wendling. I think my name on our trip became "lay 'em in the aisles Lisa", but maybe it was something different? Anyway- love and God bless ya bunches! Lisa
The next time that you are in Cleveland you should stop in Columbus, Nancy (Crable) Heath, Darlene (Barber) Thompson and many others that I am sure would be blessed to see you.
Love, Sherry :)
