"Hi Rob,
This is Lenny. You look well for your age (same as mine). Cate and I got to see Lowell and Eileen a few
years ago and Gary Lee's house down in Logan. They
looked well also. My son just left Fla. to go to Iraq
as a gunner on an AC-130…"
"Hi Sue,
It's been along time since Elm Street, huh? You look
very well- time has been good to you.
Thank you for your prayers for my son. God does
honor prayer.
Did you remember Mark Lohr- Eighth Corps?
He fell asleep in the Lord this summer. I…"
"Hi Karl,
This is Lenny Corns. Just a note to say God bless and
say Hi. If you are ever in West Virginia please stop in
and visit. Weren't you in "The Sower" magazine?
In Him,
Lenny"
Nice looking family you have! How have you been? I recall talking cars with you on occasion. You really liked the new Corvette at the time. Did you ever get one? Check out the pics I posted today. Bobby Lohr is in one. Do you ever hear from him? I have thought of him and Brenda many times.
I remember you as being one a very fine West Virginian! I sure to miss my home...West Virginia will always be home to me. How are you? What's Gary up to these days? I have a picture of my son Josh, who looks identical to your son, in the military...the shaved head and "birth control" (haha) eyeglasses..and uniform... We sure will pray for your son...The military was wonderful for Josh...take care Lenny
Gary Lee and I were in the Tenth Corps together, and I remember you in the 12th Corps as GL's brother. I didn't really ever spend time with you too much, but remember chatting with you from time to time because I always thought Gary Lee was the greatest, and any brother of Gary Lee Corns was good enough for me. I seem to remember that you also liked to fish, bein' from West Virginia and all.
Gary Lee and I were in a twig together during our last block while in residence, and we had a lot of fun in that twig because things had "loosened up" a lot because we were about to graduate. And then, at Gunnison for our "graduation party week", a fishing contest developed, and the only person who came close to catching as many rainbow and brown trout as me was Gary Lee. He caught 21, I caught fifty. But no one else even came near to his 21 trout and the fifty that I caught. The cool thing was, was that since Gary Lee and I had caught so many fish, a lot of the mucky mucks (Johnny Townshend, Pat Lynn, and notable others), got really inspired because of the large amount of fish being caught by me and Gary Lee, who then subsequently were giving our fish as gifts to all of the Corps coordinators, Dr. Wierwille, and many others. Brown nosers! Hah! And because of this, a bunch of them were trying to catch fish as well. But, Gary Lee and I ruled that river man, and it was way cool. I think I had an advantage over Gary Lee because I had spent a whole lot of time there in residence and knew every hole up and down that river within Gunnison's property lines.
And so, even though I didn't really know you that well, I guess it just blessed me to see your name pop up here, and I do in fact remember you to be as fine a guy as Gary Lee.
And so, God bless you Lenny, and tell Gary Lee I said how dee do!
Lenny, I'll surely pray for your son. My son got out of the Air Force two years ago so we know what it's like. Thankfully our son never went to Iraq. They were getting ready to send him but at the last minute decided not to.
Well hello family ;-)
Great to see you here, it's fun to see friends who share a special place in your heart. Caleb was out learning to snowboard this weekend at one of the local resorts. He called home from the top of the mountain and was having a blast. We are keeping Bo in our prayers.
all our love
Glad to see you on the site. Cathy and I sure do enjoy your family pics each year. Looks like your guys will be out on their own soon. Give our best to Gary Lee.
