"It is something that we both ended up homeschooling. I wonder how far away you are from us. I can't see how to send you a message here, but if you're near the south of Maine, perhaps we could meet up sometime in the summer or something."

"Sarah,

Good to see you here. It's been a long time. I haven't the time to watch your videos right now, but we have a new holiday CD that has a song Six White Boomers that has had me thinking about Australia again. I'm also "chief manager and…"

"A few years ago, I was trying to look you up, and that's how I saw the DeWald name in connection with flying, but wanted to find out if it really was you. That was before this site was around, or at least several years before I heard of it.

Do you…"

  • Sounds like us. We will paint anything We too stay away from the bigger stuff, especially with time constraints. We still tackle some pretty big jobs now and then. Your kids have great aspirations! How old is the oldest?

I have no kids, just boatloads of animals. Four cats and two dogs. I had to let my little kitty Marble go in December. He was just too sick.

Anyways off to help the neighbor with some odds and ends.
  • Just 2. I ran a crew in the 90's. It was less artsy and more production, really not my bag. I prefer to be more detailed than what we call "blow and go " here. I am a much better painter than business person. We just go to work and do the best job we can, and the referrals come. It has been a great ride.
  • Hey good to hear from you and read what you have been up to. Our kids like to swim too. Only they do it for a summer sport. I think this web-thing is great but we don't get on very often. Always try to reply when we get a message though. Glad to you hear you are doing well. Say hey to Karsten for us. God bless and love always, Deb McK
  • There are pros and cons to the specialization, We will paint anything! Most of our painting is in the more affluent areas of Sac, we drive a lot. Minimum of 30 miles to start our day. Painting has always been a great outlet for me. It is somewhat physical, but not strenuous. Never in one place too long either. So many years later I would have a hard time being at the same place every day. Spoiled.

Yes, that is a huge kitchen. I live in a little house 1941, 744 sq. ft. Way smaller than most of my clients, actually all, most have garages bigger than my house. I am much more minimalistic than those I work for. I love this little house, and enjoy fixing it instead of it being torn down some day. My addition to this older part of town, and I love working with my hands!!!
  • Dear Karin,
God bless you and thank you for your communication. I honestly do not know if there are believers in the Ixtapa area or not. If I am able to find out, I will pass along any information.
    with agape, Ken
  • Karin, Thank you. My E-mail address is sogep2002@yahoo.com Bless you Eric Peterson
  • Well thanks Karin. I think we all do what we have to do. Its good you did the research. So you can proceed in an informed manner.

Classes started for this semester this week. With work picking up and classes being challenging. I have been staying busy all week. I thought I would take a break tonight and do something I can relax doing. Some online games and checking emails.

Hope you guys are having a nice weekend.
  • We try to not do any exteriors from October to around March, but sometimes it just doesn't work out, as you probably remember from your time in Ca. that it does like to rain alot and we have fog. We are staying busy though. Our main area of expertise is cabinet finishes, and it is the most lucrative. We have an 80' kitchen in a week, yahoo!!!

Horse are a lot of fun, but work too. Amazing creatures.

Arizona is a vastly varied place. beautiful and rugged in one. You can go from the desert floor to an elevation of 7000 in about 3 hours, the Grand Canyon, and it is an Indian lovers paradise. There are many ruins throughout the state, some pretty spectacular and ominous. I love it there. I try to get there 2-3 times a year. I have a brother who lives in the Phoenix area and my Mom lives about 90 miles east of there. Never meant to be in Ca. this long.
  • I really enjoyed BC. I grew up in North Dakota and Montana so have spent some time in Western Canada, and my three sisters are Canadian. The goal is to someday get to Arizona on some horse property, just not yet. Still have work to do here. We have a day off today. No exterior painting as it is raining. I will switch gears and work on this little remodel.
  • We are all over the place. I never thought I would be in California, I am much more a Montana, Wyoming, Az, kinda gal. More country than city. My sister lives in Nanimo, BC. She is my half sister, 5 1/2 weeks older than I. We met in the late 80's. It is a good story. Sometimes I miss the snow and a little dryer climate. This endless rain we get is not my favorite, but then again you can't beat a 60 degree day in the middle of January.
