About Me
I graduated from the 11th Corps and married Cindy Savarese in the Corps weddings. We moved to High Point, NC and have been in North Carolina ever since. We are coming up on our 41st wedding anniversary in the Summer of 2024. We have 2 beautiful girls. Kristina and Sarah. I have been assisting with some international ministries in Haiti and India. This has been very exciting for me. I retired in 2022 after 17 years as a Real Estate Agent. I just manage my own single family rental properties now.
My Interests
I overeat and work out on a pretty consistent basis. I enjoy the outdoors and fish and boat a lot.
I have worked with Bethanie Evangelical Mission of Haiti (http://bethaniemission.org)
The India ministry I work with is Body of Christ ministries (BCMIndia.org)
I seem to have a part to play in putting the brick and mortar to the work of God. This is where God has led me to help with these International Ministries. It has been great learning for me.
Employment or Career

God bless. I read with delight your profile and learned that you too have a passion for international missions. I am coordinator of Seedtime and Harvest Global Missions Team at Ambassadors for Christ here in Columbus, where my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eric and Carolyn Warren are the senior pastors. I am one of the associate pastors, and my wife, Brenda, is one of the ministers. You may remember Eric and Carolyn from the Washington, DC/Maryland area which is where I recall that we first met, if I'm not mistaken.
Our team is currently planning a mission trip to Dakar, Senegal in July of this year. I attended a faculty development seminar in Dakar in 2003 when I was professor of English at Otterbein College. I also presented a biblical studies teaching to a group of Christians whose leader was a missionary from Cameroon, Pastor Oscar Bayiha. Our church sponsored Pastor Oscar who attended a conference we held this past summer. It was his first trip to America.
I would love to correspond with you and share our mutual interest in missions. I'm sure there is much that I could learn, and I look forward to a mutually beneficial time of sharing.
I see we also have another connection. I'm referring to your connection to the Tarheel State. Prior to moving to Columbus, my family and I lived in Fayetteville, where I taught at Fayetteville State University. Both of our daughters consider themselves North Carolinians, since they grew up there. When Brenda and I came to Columbus, Angela, our youngest daughter, was a freshman in high school, while Melissa, our older daughter, stayed behind in Fayetteville to graduate from EE Smith High School and to reign as "Miss Teen Fayetteville." Angela returned to North Carolina upon graduating from high school to attend Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte where she graduated in 2002. She currently teaches middle school language arts in Charlotte. We try to get back to see her at least once a year.
We also have friends who moved from Columbus to High Point. In fact, they were instrumental in helping me to publish my most recent books, and they also assisted me in establishing my publishing enterprise, Ambassador Press.
It's amazing how our lives intertwine and connect and reconnect in such fascinating ways. It has been so good to hear from you, John. I'd love to keep in touch.
Be blessed, you and your family.
Still serving the Lord, after all these years,
Lonnell
It's good to see you are doing so well. It's been a long time, and I had a blast with you and all the crew in Cincinnati. Those were some days, and I treasure them. Take care,
