  • Thank you Jim for your edifying remarks.
I guess the grace of God allows us to renew our minds and put on Christ. That's about as 'real' as I ever get. His word is still his will and when people hear it and believe it, they get the power. I am so grateful to our Father for His mercy to keep on holding it forth. I appreciate your care for my life, it's very precious.
Give Elaine a great big hug from me, I always remember her giant smile, you too brother!
    In Christ,
    Chas. - II Cor. 2:14-17
  • Paula Featherstone DeWald here. Hi Jim. Are you the guy that I used to sit behind Kenyon hall with for four hours each day knocking mortar off of old bricks for a job while at Emporia? There is no picture of me or you but the name is so familiar. I am in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Too much. Thanks for your reply. Mabe it's crazy but it seems like Iv'e got it right. Paula F. DeWald
  • God's best to you, Jim.

Nice to hear from you brother. Sorry for the so late reply. haven't been on.....
Yes, I remember our one game of golf and plenty of hoops back in the day.
Beth and I are here serving for almost 4 yrs now. Our sons Elisha and Clint are here for a visit and we just golfed today for Clint's 26 b'day. We have begun a newfellowship down at the beach for homeless and drug afflicted folks
along with our home fellowship and my work in the schools. I also added a job
as a family planning, community health educator, position, which gets me sharing CF&S along with the Repro health, Birth Control and STD info.
We would love to be included in your thoughts and prayers. Love to Elaine,
Your brother in Christ, for eternity,
    Charles H.
  • Hi Elaine!
Thanks!!! I do hope we get to see each other again! You are such a blessing to be around!
    In God we Trust!

  • Elaine, thanks for the note on my page. What you had written really struck a chord with me. You know, I no longer think of salvation as a one-time event in the past, but an ongoing thing while we sojourn here in these tents. Just like God saw Jeremiah before he was even born, God knew us and ordained us and wrote on our hearts, and He is still writing.

Were we doing "God's gig" back then? Well, yes, but perhaps not like we thought we were! Part of a grander plan than I could have imagined!

Jim, I also enjoyed your posts over in dreamland!

    Much love and gratitude.
    Dan
  • Hi Elaine! Whooda thunk that we could be in touch like this after having so much fun together in DD. What a place that was! It was a hidden treasure, now that I think of it. Hope you are doing very, very well yourself. I will take a look at your site to see what you have been up do. God has blessed me oh so much...xoxoBarbara
  • Elaine, Let's just say - Candace and Bianchi's girls and Larocque's kids were my life savers. They were part of my corp training in keeping life simple. What a trip. I must say I love this site for reconnection. Life is gran and blessed. My phone # is 201-704-5518. God Bless.
  • Hi Elaine,

Yes, we knew each other at least enough to say hello and sit together for meals at times, I think. :) I was in Gudlin's twig in the 9th and then Charlie Young's, if that helps.

Thank you so much for sharing with me about my dream. Your insights have really blessed me and given me lots to pray about. I am so excited and encouraged! You are good at this! Yeah!

One of the most freeing things for me in the last six years or so has been to pay attention to my dreams again. Pre-Way I talked with God by day and night, dreams and visions, all the time. I have gotten back on track and it's been so healing.

One day I realized that I don't get to choose how the Almighty speaks to me or anyone else - that was quite an epiphany! I asked forgiveness for ignoring Him.

Godly dreams are obviously misunderstood and sometimes misused in much of Christendom but God still communicates that way nonetheless! :)

Thank you so much again, love, Karen :)

  • You crazy girl! There's a ton of questions in here, so let me see if I can answer them all...um...yes, Jackson (Jack) is the baby. He's 4 months old now. We just started him on cereal last night. Toooo funny! He has my wide eyes, but Dad's color blue and he has Daddy's reddish hair too! Ryan has dark brown eyes like me. As for Mom, she is in New York, close to my 2 older brothers. She was here for my last month of pregnancy (while I was on bedrest) and then stayed for another couple of months. She has the BEST time being a Grandma and it was such a wonderful help to me while I was recovering from the c-section. We really had so much fun being together and sharing this miraculous baby! She comes and visits a few times a year and stays for awhile so we get some good time together.

As for work, I work for a division of a large Corporate America-type of company in the financial services market -- not a great place to be in this economy. I have a new boss that I tolerate mostly because he doesn't compare to my old boss who I really liked...and although I do love the Marketing work that I do, I'd much rather work less and spend more time with the boys.

We don't go to church regularly, but we keep looking for a place where we can fit and get some "re-education". I know we love God and we have a great life that He's given to us and these 2 miracle sons, so I know we'll find the right place to fall back in love with all of that again someday. We just keep praying!

I haven't kept in touch with Darcy but I think she's in Texas still. Kirk Stegmeyer ran into her a few years back in Washington DC -- go figure -- totally out of the blue. The whole family was there. Said she looked stunning as usual and all were happy and together. I've kept up with a Toya, Holly, Shelley and Claudia and they're all on this site too. And of course, our Leslie...my soulmate and sister! She's right...we went shopping in Lima. Tried on hats and sunglasses in the winter and then spun out somewhere...good memory. I have pictures of the sunglasses, etc. HAVE to scan some of those in. We did have fun! You were a blast. So glad you are driving the bus. My sister in law does too and she prays for each child as he/she gets on and off the bus and she says it's a great joy for her!

Okay, I have to get some sleep now. But am so delighted to reconnect! Hugging you big and sending lots of love to Jim too! Syl
  • Hi Elaine! It was so great to get your note. I have thought about you over the years. I missed you when you left WA. It was never the same.
I don't remember the wall incident but sometimes when it starts to snow I think of the time you, me and Sylvia did donuts in the snow after a movie. Not sure. I think we were in Lima. We had some fun! Aren't Sylvia's boys just the cutest!!!!!
Anyway- I have a houseful here. Mom and Bill live in the mother-in-law downstairs and I have my dad upstairs with me. Two boys live here with me-Elliott is almost 18 and Sawyer just turned 15. Colton is with Gregg in Santa Maria but I expect he will be here for his senior year. Tyler lives in Santa Maria-goes to school full-time and works full-time and is a cowboy on the weekends!
I am going to school, working towards a nursing degree. After all I have been through, figured I'd better be able to take care of myself one of these days. I take care of dad and everything else around the house and am taking 14 units this semester. I am looking to get my BSN so that as I get OLD I am able to go into teaching or administration. I have my Real Estate license but when the market went to shit the mortgage company I worked for closed and at the same time I had just brought dad here. I was home for a few months and thought maybe dementia was contagious!!!!! So- my husband really pushed me to go to school.
Mom was working too much and was having a hard time of it , so we finally got them to move here and we let our house go($4200) and decided to rent a bigger place closer to town. Her and Bill do in home support for home-bound medi-cal clients. It gives them some income and has given them the opportunity to give and bless others. Mom just had a hip replacement at the end of December. She is coming along great! Mom helps out with my dad on her days off (when she recuperates). Anyway, despite it's quirks it seems to work for now. We just take it one day at a time. Well- Dad needs his breakfast-better get to work! Let's talk again soon. Love you bunches-
