  • Been busy and lost your contact info. How's things down in Texas? We have had it a bit snowy and wet up here. Longest run of snow in 40 years....it was great to stay home and play games with the kids though, and just slow down.

I will put up some more photos of our last year's activeties for you to see soon.

  • Hi Jerry,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I ran accross you while responding to some other's comments on my page. This is the second time I have been on this site. It was great to hear from you when you touched base with me last spring.

    Love You,

  • Amen brother, God knows best where we can serve best and where we serve the body can change. We need to be flexible and we need to listen to Christ when he directs us, after all, he is the head and the head directs the body.

There were times in my life when, I believe, God wanted me up front so to speak. I was involved in local politics, school board, budget committee, etc, etc. I also volunteer in different local activities and it finally sunk into my head that this was God leading me and that my life was to be a witness in this particular way. Anyone can teach the Bible, but to live it, to let your life show Christ without preaching. Remember, "I'ld rather see a sermon". This is what God was teaching me. I knew enough Bible. It was time to live it, in my family, how I treated my wife and kids. It all starts at home cause if you can live it there you won't live it outside of it. It'll only be a fake thing.
Far too often I've put God in a box but now I see him work in wonderful ways. The Word of God will always be so dear to me and I will continue to hide it in my heart daily. It's just that in the last few years I've really seen how I need to live the Word more. Very basic simple stuff, that's just me. Anywho, love hearing from you. Again, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
  • Hi Jerry,

I had attempted at starting a home fellowship but it didn't take off up here. Oh I had one going for a while but it grew and the people were so stuck in the traditional church mode, i.e. church building. So we got one and soon after I left cause it was getting too wild. They wanted to get into "experiencing God". The put so much interest on that and less on the Word and it got too wild for me so we left and basically tried to get a home fellowship going again. I just got tired and gave up on it.
We checked out all the local churches and ended up at this one cause they were loving and seemed to have their hearts in the right place. Once I saw their hearts I could overlook our differences in doctrinal teachings which by the way are rarely mentioned. Sue and I stay in the background and try to bless people in our own way. I have no desire to lead a fellowship. I just love to help people and bless them anyway I can. One thing I've learned is that there are many wonderful saints in all the churches we visited. Committed saints serving God with pure hearts. I saw how I was the one making a big deal out of nothing. The Word states that we are to be especially kind to one another and that is what I strive to do.

It wasn't that big of a stretch for me because I had known the Word, spoken in tongues, prophecied before I had even heard of the Way. I had visited a lot of churches. I just wanted to fellowship with God's people no matter what denomination they were with. Heck I remember attending a prayer fellowship in New Orleans lead by charismatic nuns, imagine that. Their are many wonderful ministries out there that are very knowledgable on the Word. The Way was just one more ministry that blessed me, no better no worse and no regrets.
