Dear Tina and Jack
Great to see you on here. Are you going to Dogwood next month? We went over to the fellowship at the McDougal House in Tallahassee and hand delivered our registration. Daniel will turn 18 on that Sunday - our baby! NOT
Hope to see you there. God Bless, Carol and Charlie
I just sent you a VERY long comment here, only to hit a button that sent me to a Katrina Disaster Relief site instead of the "add comment" button. What a wing-nut.
How tickled we were to hear from you. My heart welled-up with many fond remembrances and loving thoughts. WOW. So, sorry for the delayed response. Been gone too much and wanted to have uninterrupted time to write back to you.
Where in Florida do you live? Kevin's in Orlando this weekend. Great to hear about Johnny and Jake and their doings. When you spoke of Jake with long hair, I, of course, tried to picture JACK with long hair and that was VERY hard. Made me laugh! What's it like being a grandparent?
We lived in Midland, Michigan (Saginaw Bay area) for 12 years before moving to Vandalia, Ohio, 1 and a half years ago. We moved as Kevin is full time in the work of Christian Family Fellowship. Thoroughly enjoyed Midland (w/the exception of the looooong winters). It's a city of about 50,000, home of Dow Chemical, great family and cultural town, lots of opportunity to speak & live the Word out loud and grow in love with our Father. Kevin practiced architecture there. I worked in the same firm for 6 years then became a realtor.
Micah and Grant are now 26. Both graduated from Michigan universities and are working (yea!) Micah is single but dating a young lady who was in our home fellowship in Midland. I imagine we'll get a phone call from them in the not-to-distant future makeing an announcement. We'll see. Grant is married to Amelia Vogt. They live in Richmond VA.
Dottie is a sophomore at Saginaw Valley SU in Michigan. In August, she's marrying Mark & Sigrid Tompary's oldest son, Matt. He lives in the Sarasota area. Guess Dottie will move there after they get married (smile). If I could have arranged a marriage for Dottie, it would have been to Matt. I feel a little too far away from my children but am SO thankful and at rest, knowing how they love God and His Word. Kevin & I couldn't be more blessed.
I sent a friend "invite" your way. Meanwhile, our email is kguigou@woh.rr.com (so you know).
Dear Vini. God Bless Thanks for that walk down memory lane. 27 years does't seem that long ago. But I guess it is. I remember trying to get that little room that you had. No room mates to mess with. But then I was Always gone somewhere any way. do you listen to dr. stuff(Word Tapes) or cd? We need to get you filled up with the Word Of God!!!!!!!!!! Love Jack.
Thank you Jack.
Healing up this broken body sounds good to me.
Soon after moving to Emporia last year, I visited the old Way campus early one Saturday morning and hung out there for a hour or so. I expected to see some local people strolling around, or cars driving through, but I was absolutely alone the entire time. I rode around on my electric scooter for a while, visited all of the buildings, then parked in front of Kenyon Hall. I closed my eyes and tripped a bit with my memories, as the cool, Autumn air and colored leaves breezed by. After a while I envisioned the place packed with all of you, walking; running; working; laughing. It was awesome. All of a sudden I snapped out of it and realized that it had been over twenty-seven years since the last time I was there. What a mind blower that was. The campus looks relatively the same and, unfortunately, the stench from the Tyson meat packing plant lingers on. Half the town wants to tear down Kenyon Hall and the other half wants to restore it. In any event, they sold the organ, and took out all of the seats and moved them to the newly restored Granada movie house on Commercial St.
What a crazy walk down memory lane this has been and continues to be for me.
Love you, man...
Tina!
I'm so thankful for your newsy note on here. I've been wanting to write back with lots of news from me, but as you can imagine have been rather inundated with "holiday happenings" : ) Just want to say..... I WILL write more!
Much love to you, Jack and your fabulous family....
Sara
