"Hey Kas,
I sent you an email. Ah yes, the rabbi. I found our Twig picture a while back. I'll find it again and post it here sometime. By the way, I love your blondness.

HI Gigi,
This site is so much fun. When are you going to put some pictures up? I need to find one of my husband and I. Anyway, yeah I went blond a few years ago. I like it. It covers the gray fabulously. I would love to see that fellowship picture. I remember your face was priceless. What fun!

GiGi,God BLess you sister! So you are married and living in the Midwest. Wonderful. Where the heck is that at? Anyway, I was thrilled to hear from you. I remember the good laughs we had in our fellowship with the rabbi. Love you,
Kas
Hey Gigi, God Bless you sister. Where are you living? I am here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Would love you talk with you. Are you still living in New York?
Hey, Gigi, nice to hear from you — and I'm shocked to learn that you're 3/4 German. Ach dulieber! Yes, I come from the same country, or at least my great-great-grandfather did.
I never had much luck learning German, though I tried when I went over there for a couple of weeks in the mid-90s. I remember buying a coffee in the airport, paying with a 10-mark bill or something like that, and then realizing that I had just enough to pay for the coffee with all the heavy, clunky change in my pocket. So I gathered all my change, carefully counting it, and tried to rehearse a little speech in German.
I went back to the coffee lady and said, "Um ... Ich habe ..." and then I stacked all these big coins on her counter, painfully pronouncing all their denominations in my tortured German, and then awkwardly asking her, "Haben Sie Zehn?" It took me about two minutes to do all the counting and try to explain that I wanted a 10-mark bill.
The instant I stopped stammering, she said in perfect English, "No, we don't make change."
Gigi,
I can't tell you how great it is to hear from you.
I have thought about you so often. I'd love to catch up sometime? I am off to Barcelona and Kiev tomorrow but when I get back I'll email you and perhaps we can chat.
Love you!
