I will never forget your Mom asking "What are you doing to prepare these corps to make a living out on the field" That question made me work my hardest in-residence and out to get ready for a lifetime of Christian service. Your Mom was a wonderful woman. I look forward to the return even more now so you can be reunited with her. Lena and I share our love with you and we pray that God comforts your heart and soul. Thank God we have Hope
Would you wonderful Saints please sign Mom's online guestbook, too?.....as it will be printed out and given to Daddy. Thank you!

A Phi Beta Kappa member at Depauw University, Mom met Dad, the love of her life in the Fall of 1937 and they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 8, 2009 "without one argument on one subject."
Raised Episcopalian and "retread" into Second Presbyterian Church, Mom loved to read her Bible for hours each day. For her last 50 years, she and Dad faithfully shared the Word of God at scores of Christian gatherings, and her practical wisdom and joyful personality touched hearts far and wide.
Mom was a cheerful giver, who selflessly cared for her family for almost of a century, along with countless others the Lord brought to her. Always confessing what the Word of God says, she was a bright light of Christ's love, unwavering joy, relentless faith in both the goodness of her God and the faithfulness of her Precious Savior, Jesus Christ.
We will carry with us her legacy of what Christ-like love and joy look like. Her next thought will be face-to-face with Christ her Savior. And we will see her again when the trumpet of the Lord sounds and Time is no more!
OUR CELEBRATION OF MOM'S LIFE WILL BE
Sunday, May 17 at home,
49 Highland Manor Ct North
Indianapolis, IN 46228

When Dad and Mom moved into this home in 1960, they dedicated it to the Lord.
May each of you who blesses us with your presence see the joy of the Lord here and experience His great love for you!
5:30pm - 9:30pm Open House
5:30pm Showing of "Portrait of a Heritage," a 50-minute presentation of their lives...ending with a 2007 interview with Dad and Mom ...... so we will all get to see Mom in action again!!

You are welcome to speak, too.
A few of Mom's myriad knitting and needlepoint masterpieces will be on display too.
If you were the blessed recipient of one, please wear yours and show her off!
For those who have asked, yes you can bring a plate of fruit or finger-food desserts.
We will see Mom again...and everyone any of us have loved and lost...on that Glorious Day when the Trumpet of the Lord shall sound and Time shall be no more! HALLELUJAH!
Come Quickly, Lord Jesus!
God bless you all,
Dad, Johnny, Cheri, Judi and kids and grandkids

I am so sorry my friend.
From your description of her, it is obvious she played a major role in making you the man of God you are today.
Yes, as are you also, our Lord Jesus is heart-broken over her falling asleep and is already missing her. How comforting it is to know that our Lord Jesus is, as you put it, anticipating waking her up at His appearing.
My mom and dad were also friends of The Way Corps. You may remember meeting them at the parents' weekend in Emporia. Dad fell asleep in June of 98. His last words to me were, "I will meet you at the feet of Jesus." How comforting it is to know that our loved ones will get up again!!!
I will indeed keep you, your father, and your family in prayer through these times.
I love you John.
George
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
It is such a sad occasion that only the hope of Christ return can offer true solace.
Many believers were nourished and encouraged be the goodness of your family.
Bless you and yours in this time.
All the best,
Bill
So sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. She was a "Mother" to many. Your folks were so instrumental in those early years of The Way, as were all of the "elders". We were all so young and full of ourselves at times...it was great to have so many "older" members who were able to be such fine examples of the living Word to us all. They brought with them life experiences and were able to share in word and deed many things that we all needed to learn about life...being a Godly husband or wife...examples in the art of parenting...being the brother or sister in Christ that God needs us to be to each other...showing support and diving right in to help when needed.
They were true "rock stars" within The Way for so many years.
How proud of them you must be!
Looking forward to the day when we are all gathered together !
Much love and comfort to you, your Dad and the entire family at this time, Michelle Hershey Poccia
When I called I was super blessed to talk with your Mom and Dad. .They were so thrilled to hear from me.
John your parents did so much for so many through The Way years. Most of us do not know the scope of all they did .
My heart and prayers are with you in this time of mourning.
God Bless And Be With You My Brother In Christ
Ted
