BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

The Manifestation of the Spirit Part 2

In the last post (part 1), we found that there is a bringing together.  But, of what?

Group 1:  Word (arrangement) of Sophia and Word (arrangement) of Gnosis.

Why does the Spirit bring these two together?

Group 2: Prophecy, Discerning of (belonging to) Spirits, Faith, Energizing of Potential and Gifts of Healing.

Why does the Spirit bring these five together?

Group 3: Kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues.

Why does the Spirit bring these two together?

  • Gnosis / Gnostos

Gnosis is translated 29 times as “knowledge.” It’s related word gnostos is translated 15 times, either as “acquaintance, known, notable or which may be known.” Gnostos helps us understand that gnosis is an “in your face” or a “face to face” knowing.

    I Corinthians 1:4, 5

    I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

That in every thing (masculine ALL) ye are enriched by (in) him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge

There is a big difference between “by” and “in.” By represents agency. In represents being surrounded in something…here, HIM. In all utterance is “the ALL masculine arrangement,” and in all knowledge is the face to face in the feminine ALL.

I Corinthians 8:1 tells us that we possess all masculine face to face knowledge concerning the remnants of victims sacrificed to external appearance. THE (feminine) knowledge inflates with pride, vanity and arrogance. But, the (feminine) love builds a house.

So, when we come to Word (arrangement) of Knowledge in I Corinthians12:8, we can surmise that it does not concern external appearance, neither does it inflate one with pride, vanity and arrogance. Paul further explains this in chapter 13 verse 2:

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (love), I AM (I exist) NOTHING (certainly NOT)…

    …except as a Black Magician.

BECAUSE the Manifestation (clear display) of the Spirit is pros, all the way to, sumphero, bringing together, in the house built with love.

So, from these clues, can we arrive at why the clear display of the Spirit brings together an arrangement of sophia and an arrangement of gnosis?

  • Since this passage occurs in I Corinthians, it is helpful to read Paul's context of the word sophia or wisdom.  Many times in I Corinthians, Paul uses either wisdom or wise, etc. setting a contrast between Greek wisdom of the material world and the wisdom of the God.

I Cor. 1:23,24 tells us that it is Christ crucified that is the power and wisdom of God.

I Cor. 2:7 tells us the wisdom of God is spoken in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory (notion).

I Cor. 2:10 tells us that God reveals by his Spirit and that Spirit searches, traces, investigates and explores ALL THINGS, YES the profundities and deep-laid plans of the God.

So, from these qualifications, word of wisdom is about Christ crucified, found in a mystery (the hidden wisdom) and the deep-laid plans of the God within that mystery.

Word of Wisdom IS NOT about getting information in or of the material world through the material mind.
