BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

The Manifestation of the Spirit

In Power For Abundant Living, Dr. Wierwille taught us that there are 3 groups of "profit" for the manifestation of the Spirit:

Group 1: Speaking In Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues and Prophecy

Group 2: Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge and Discerning of Spirits

Group 3: Faith, Workings of Miracles and Gifts of Healing

That is NOT what the Greek text indicates.  Rather there are groups grammatically placed by the Greek words

"heteros" and "allos."

Group 1:  Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge

Group 2: Faith, Gifts of Healing, Working of Miracles, Prophecy and Discerning of Spirits

Group 3: Kinds of Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues

I am sure I am not the only one who has seen this in the Greek text.  This changes everything about the practices of the PFAL template, which, at best, are external expressions without Biblical accuracy.  There is more here that should be investigated by researchers of truth and life while we are in the way of this existence.

The word "profitable" is translated from the Greek word "sumphero."  It means to "bring together" or "carry together," as a whole, as a unity.  These Biblical relationships should be investigated, IF WE ARE HONEST about research and learning.

  • By the way, we really can't go by Dr. Wierwille's definitions of heteros and allos.

Heteros is of a different kind, like heterosexual.  Allos is of the same kind, NOT like homosexual.  They have nothing to do with how many are involved.  The lexicon does not support his conclusions.

For someone, like Dr. Wierwille, who was all about Greek research, it is unbelievable that Greek grammar was ignored to substantiate a personal belief and then teach it to others.

I am thankful I was introduced to the subject by Dr. Wierwille, but I put down his books and over the years picked up and used the books we were given in the Way Corps, like The Greek-English Interlinear and Moulton's Lexicon.

I thank God, Dr. Wierwille and the Way Corps put these tools into my hands.  But, are we researchers and workers of the Word or are we researchers and workers of Dr. Wierwille's works?
