Digesting the Church

Thank You for keeping the discussion going regarding the dangers that the church is facing; but then, remember we've been in these "end of times" for over two thousand years.  So, OK, what else is new?  I just returned from a rather large (unnamed) fellowship that was celebrating the installation of a new head minister and associate minister, while the founder was retiring.  I was agog, that they REQUIRED facemasks, and wristbands of red, yellow, and green to communicate what level of greeting was permissible.  Very few seemed to wear red, most wore green, and "air hugs were common.  I knew many, but 30 years of age added to make the facemask cause any closeness impossible.  There were no nametags, and the event lacked 3/4 of the saints attendance.  I cannot fathom how people can hold such level of truth, and yet follow like lemmings the world's edict to wear this "costume".  What will they do at Halloween?  How do you minister healing from behind a mask and from a 6' distance?  Somehow, the manifestations are less than dynamic when you can't see the lips speaking.  How can you with "open face" tell people to not fear death  while pumping gel on your hands?  The millenials are marching in the streets, and the BLM movement is using them as pawns, while ALL are led by the Anarchy movement.  The Church is the group that is supposed to be altering society, but we have gone to the slaughterhouse of Satan, and are swallowed whole, headed for digestion followed by a loud BURRRPP!  Some will say that Zoom will save the Church, but I find it sophomoric and boring.  Therefore, the Father is leading me to go into the bowery of Cocoa Florida and take the less beautiful people under my wing.  I plan to go where they all know and some live either inside or nearby at their tents;  a closed down flea market. They will doubtless carry in their lawn chairs and ice chests of beer and have a "love feast", but we will cast off the pulpit and together open the Scriptures, and warn against the brick and mortar religion of the Bible belt. This concept is un proven except in Acts 2, but I expect to be exposed to the Christianity that Stephen and Agabus, and Aquilla & Prisca held forth.  UPCHUK !

  • Since we are dancing around the topic, revelation is an interesting subject, that Dr. Wierwille dealt with as Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom and Discerning of Spirits.

The Greek word for "revelation" (especially the last book of the Bible) is apokalupsis.  Anyone who settles for the old definition pays no attention to Greek, which, by the way, tells us a bunch.  Even the non-Way Int'l crowd thinks of revelation, as in the book, as THE APOCALYPSE, the catastrophic destruction of everything that is.  The point of it is the "away from concealment belonging to Jesus Christ."

Apokalupsis is two words combined: apo = away from and kalupsis= concealment.  Revelation means "away from concealment."  So, John's experience with the Master was "away from concealment."  Joshua Immanuel, the Christ, SHOWED UP VISUALLY AND AUDIBLY.  What then are we concealing him with?  And how do we unconceal him?

So, I highly doubt that he showed up in Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge or Discerning of Spirits to complain about mask wearing.

Revelation is about revealing HIM to us who are following in the Master's footsteps.  He is our true SELF.

  • Gary.  I looked at your profile and saw you are still promoting the Word as taught by Dr. Wierwille.  Gotta give you kudos for faithfulness to the one who brought you to the dance.  Sorry, but he was NOT the Man of God for our times.  But, thank God, he brought us to the dance.  I will always be grateful for his contribution in helping me learn to dance.

    So, dance on, my brother!

  • So, Jesus Christ appeared to you and gave you these instructions?  If so, please tell him to come see me.  I welcome him to do so.

Do you really think a mask can hinder the healing work of the Holy Spirit?  Wow!  A paper mask is greater than God! News flash everyone!!!  GOD STOPPED BY A PAPER MASK MADE BY HUMAN BEINGS!!!  WE ARE GREATER THAN HIM AFTER ALL!!!

  • PS: I won't force the word on anyone, I'm done.

  • Who. you ask, W-H-O ? made ME the agent of reproof and corrector of the church?

Jesus Christ!  (that's WHO!)  You see, that's an important indicator of where the Church IS these days.  How can you manifest faith/believing, or healing through a mask?  SO WHAT if you get the Covid FLU!  God is your Father and will heal you.  The thing thats going VIRAL in the church is FEAR; and many are even rejecting when reproof is mandated. Maybe there's some personal pride to deal with too.  I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH!

  • So, Gary, who made you the agent of reproof and corrector of the church?  This is not a judgmental question, but rather one for introspection that only you can find the answer to.  I don't need to know that answer, because I have "stuff" of my own to deal with.  I don't need to deal with your stuff too, my brother.

You are right.  The church looks just like the world, doesn't it?  Maybe, its because the church has enslaved itself in a perception that is consumed with this world, confined in the constraints and contests of wrestling with flesh and blood.  The real church (ekklesia) is called out from all that.  Who cares what the physical church is looking like when we neglect the true image and practice of what it really is?

Perhaps that is why we get caught up in the fray of things outside.  Maybe, we have only beliefs from words on a page without the life behind them and the higher understanding of that life and the living of that life.  The words are not meant to be bludgeons against our brothers and sisters to bring them into compliance, but gateways to the life they represent.

How many versions of Christianity do we find in the Western world today?  It is exhausting!  It is unmanageable!  It is not fixable to continue in those outside ways.

I don't believe in COVID-19 for myself, but I will wear a mask to demonstrate my care and love for others who may be in fear of it.  It is not a political statement of mask or no mask to me.  If a mask helps de-energize the fear, I am all for it.  But, hey, that's just my opinion.

    Stay well, my brother!

  • That's what I AM; judgemental.  I look at things and make my judgement because it's MY turn to have an opinion and so I have it.  If you don't like my opinion that's YOUR judgement.  When the Christian church appears to be doing the same things that the world is doing, I have an opinion about that.  If I were to just say, nothing I would be lax in my love to reprove and correct the church.  The correction stings for a little while, but then the profit becomes clear, and you're walk is made right.  OR, you can cast rebuke on reproof and make judgement on the messenger, saying I'm lacking in love.  If you just want to wear a mask because that is what you believe, fine.  What you believe is surely subject to what the Lord Jesus would have us do, when HE MAKES HIS JUDGEMENT.

  • Human beings have been making "God" in their own images for centuries.  Our times are no different.  Even the God we Western "Christians" call upon is based on us (our egoism).  Why did the Old Testament have a jealous God called Jehovah?  Because they were a jealous people during those times.  They were full of judgment and punishment for those "unbelievers" who did not accept such a God.  As a result, they had Joshua Immanuel, the Christ, beaten beyond recognition and crucified by the Romans.

Western Christianity is in danger of becoming the same as it forgets what LOVE is...the first cause of the Creator.  It is more fashionable to be part of the old gods of hate and the groups today that re-energize them.  Yep!  They are still around because people worship them...the same people who call themselves Christians.

The Kingdom of the Heavens is NOT in this world or of this world.  It is within us.  In the inner man.  Unfortunately, for some, this world has become a Satan (from Hebrew meaning "occupier") de-energizing the LOVE of God in this world, by dethroning the true self of love from his or her rightful throne.  That occupier is the egoism of the present day personality.  Egoism that says "I am you."  Not a son of God will all power.

Love never fails because it has a never-ending, infinite and eternal supply.  But, the occupier says that love is only good for those who deserve it.  Those who think like it.

Do we really want to be small parts of big hate, judgment and punishment?  If so, Christianity is of NO avail and has been occupied by the gods we make.

Joshua Immanuel, the Christ, did not believe in the their jealous god, but THE LOVING FATHER.  Oh yeah, we can make him in our image too.  But why?  Most likely because of the belief that the Kingdom of the Heavens will be installed in this world BY US.  Nothing could be further from the TRUTH.

Time for housecleaning in our present day selves, so we can be presented perfect in Christ Jesus.  That is not something that will just happen at "the gathering together."  It takes work on our part, NOW, not then.  Otherwise, we become or remain powerless in this world, just wasting our lives with all the bad emotions and thoughts of the occupier.

    We are better than that!

  • Gary sorry to see your so judgemental. The greatest is still Love.

  • Maybe it's just because I'm a "dirty old man"; because at every stage in life for me I've had to be the one who crawled in the dirt to make life comfortable for the others.  It was like that at my wedding in my home in a Valentine's day blizzard.  The plumbing had frozen solid so that the toilet didn't flush.  After many common attempts of repair, and only an hour before the guests would arrive, I got under the house and smashed open the cap, causing the sewage to gush out onto me.  Then I took my shower, got dressed and married the most amazing woman in the world.  So when you tell me that I need to wash my hands every hour, I bawk!  I don't wear a mask to out smart the Covid bug.  When it is mandated in order to shop, I use a scarf, but past the door it creeps down to my chin.  I just believe my Bible, and if I get sick, I pray.  I openly cast my disdain on other Christians who pray through their mask

LOOK!  If you just don't believe, work on building your faith. But, to employ the world's unending fixes for a simple flu virus is lunacy.  It started this way long ago, first you begin to guard your earthly existence, then you doubt the resurrection, and then the hope, and finally you fit nicely into the social gospel of today.  I MIGHT GET SICK AND DIE!!!  But I will not become a meal for the adversary before I do, or before he comes for me!  You can do two things. Swallow this malarky, and go GULP!  ...or put fingers in your throat and UPCHUK!
