BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

Is the Renewed Mind really the key to Power?

'Don't take my word for it, go to the Word for yourselves." Well VPW did not say exactly like that but he many times encouraged us to work the Work for ourselves. He taught me how to be a workman of the Word not be lazy.To my great sadness I have seen many believers just teach over and over VPW books. They say it the way he did, they explain it the way he did and show no desire to "search the scriptures" as the Lord Jesus said. Hey the word of the Lord Jesus carries more weight than that of any man. What I love about VPW is that he exhorted us to take it further, to teach it better. Now I am not trying to condemn what VPW taught nor am I trying to "be different" nor am I being vindictive to him. This is not my purpose nor is it the heart of what I am about to say. I remain thankful for VPW and the work he did ON BEHALF OF GOD AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.Looking at the renewed mind being the key to power biblically is important for us to re-work. We must be able to prove this from scriptures. If we can't then we must take a fresh look at scriptures. Here are some questions:1. What makes the Christian powerful?2. When does a Christian exhibit power?3. What is the renewed mind?4. Is holy spirit, spriit power?Well let's just start with those four questions. No where in scripture does it say that the renewed mind is power or the key to power. When a person becomes born again he/she now has two natures (old man/new man). God's word never instructs us to rehabilitate the old man (his thoughts or his actions). No we are to put him off, consider him dead, Why? Because we are a new creation in Christ. The new man nature has all we need to exhibit the image of God. A christian believer every day is faced with the decision to follow the old nature or the new nature. Walking by the spirit brings out the qualities of the new man nature. Walking by the spirit burns up the rubbish in our lives. God and His Son is actively involved in changing our lives and developing our new thoughts. our new mind. Grinding our teeth and trying to make the bad thought go away has never worked. What works is walking by the spirit, then the bad thoughts, desires, and actions burns up. The Lord then gives new thoughts, desires, and actions.Well, don't let me say it all.....what say ye?

  • I love that you ask questions that make me think about what I believe. You're wonderful, Karl!
  • God bless you Karl in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Many years ago before Dr Wierwille fell asleep, I had the privilege of seeing his reactions to things that were brought to his attention. Renewed mind is the key to power is only one of many things that were brought to his attention. What was shocking to me was his response to these events. He used to say take it to the research team. He never defended his stance on the subject. He always trusted that men of God dedicated to research would get together and see whether those things were so. His attitude reminded me of the Bereans, they searchad the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Another thing is that he always appreciated anyone coming to him with their concerns. He disliked people trying to go off teaching things that were not run through the research team. In those days there were many qualified men who worked in the research department. SWince those days some of these men's ministerys have sunk because of fear. Yes fear is still ruining men's lives because they refuse to take a stand on God's RIGHTLY DIVIDED WORD. It is a shame to say this but this is the reality we are faced with today. True men of God Refusing to come together around the RIGHTLY DIVIDED WORD.This is my take and I am sticking to it Much love in Christ. Stokeley
  • Karl,
I have found it true practically--that the holy spirit in me helps me recognize what habits, attitudes are not pleasing to the Lord. Then I repent (change my mind) to what the Word says and ask for forgiveness and declare that attitude or habit dead, crucified with Jesus on the cross. I love IS 61 where it talks about instead of their shame, my people will receive a double portion and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance. I give my shame and disgrace to God, and I get double portions of blessings and my inheritance. I like the exchange rate on that one!

I have gone from feeling so dead, empty and drained on the inside to someone who finally REALLY knows what it's like to have joy. I used to try to convince myself that I had joy, but had no idea what I was missing.

Machine gunning verses through my head never helped me deal with any of the issues I had. It only buried things and helped me develop walls where I couldn't truly walk by the Spirit. I have learned it is much more powerful to PRAY different scriptures in a situation instead of chanting them over and over.

    Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
