BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

Georgia on my Mind

It's been two years in April since I have seen Atlanta. Thought I would share some things for any of you planning on vacationing around there.285 is a circle and you can't turn left or right to get off it. There was a baseball player from a team we won't make fun of, that was told to go to the end and turn left as a joke and he never made it to the game. So watch out for that.Stone Mountain Park is celebrating their 50th year this year, so if you get a chance to get to that area, go! I worked there for a while and it was a blast! I met people from all over the world, dressed in period costumes, and had a great time with all the people I worked with. The food is great, the weather is awesome. Just humid, big deal.Get to the Cyclorama. It is a 360 degree painting depicting a day from the civil war. It also has a diorama that extends out from the painting and it rotates, and it's bigger than IMAX. It was required as a class trip when I was a child, as was the zoo to see Willie B., and the Fernbank Science Center, which is very cool, and the High Museum of Art, and the Civic Center for a concert. Peter Wolf. So, go to those places too, there are real cool.Amacalola Falls in North Georgia, and theres Helen Ga., Vogel State Park, FDR Park, Little Grand Canyon, Chattahoochee River, Lake Lanier, Lake Spivy, tons and tons of Golf courses. Of course every golfer knows about Augusta National. Which brings up Mid-Town Atlanta, some of the best musicians, art, food and people watching in the country. Piedmont Park, Chastain Park, Fox Theatre, CNN, Turner, all kinds of places to sight see.If you like good BBQ you have to go to Sweet Auburn Ave. Ebenezer Baptist Church is there, and MLK Memorial and the best darn BBQ you ever did have is to be found there. And go to President Jimmy Carters Library. It's packed with history, and a lot of surprises about that man.My heart belongs to Georgia. I got in the Word there, I got raised there, had some great times there, cried there, grew there, got engaged there and cried like a baby when I left for the last time. I met so many people there, some are on this site. You will know them, they have peach preserves running through their veins. And peanut shells on the floor don't bother them one little bit. And if you need anything, just ask, and it's yours. That's how it is in the south. Good old fashioned chivilry. And courtesy. yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, no sir. It's the way we were brought up. And it has served us well. Thanks for stopping by and if you are ever in Georgia, eat a chili dog, OR and an FO walkin' for me, would ya? (that's how they talk at the Varsity)
