[22] Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. [23] But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. [24] And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all [men], apt to teach, patient, [25] In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; [26] And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. II Timothy 2: 22-25
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
So it would depend on the seriousness of the question and whether or not you got "a feeling" from God to even bother.
As to the return of Jesus Christ, that should have been a clue to you that this question was a trap. Why? Matthew 24 is very clear. In my heart of hearts the words of my Lord and Master speak far louder than what any other man may say about him.
[1] And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to [him] for to shew him the buildings of the temple. [2] And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. [3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? [4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. [5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. [6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these [are] the beginning of sorrows. [9] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. [10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. [11] And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. [12] And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. [13] But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. [14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. [15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) [16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: [17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: [18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. [19] And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! [20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: [21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. [23] Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not. [24] For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [25] Behold, I have told you before. [26] Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, [he is] in the secret chambers; believe [it] not. [27] For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [28] For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. [29] Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: [30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. [32] Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh: [33] So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. [34] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. [35] Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. [36] But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24 1-36
No man knows, no man can make it come faster, man although his ego is HUGE, can not affect the date that GOD has set forth for his return.
As to the antichrist. I John says very clearly those that don't believe Jesus has come in the flesh are antichrist.
The son of perdition is another story. What marks him out to God's people, and we may not even be THAT generation, will be he suffers a mortal head wound and the false prophet heals or raises him fromthe dead. Start marking days after the. Christ, who said this himself will not return until the son of perdition is revealed. According to God's Word, he will reign about 7 years. At the end of that seven years, nobody knows exactly when, Christ will return. The son of perdition does not bring the wrath of God, it is the great tribulation. NEVER in God's Word are we promised to be saved from tribulation. We are saved from WRATH to come. Completely different word, usage, temprament, everything.
If those folks really want to know God's Word, then teach it to them to the end they get born again speak in tongues and begin their relationship with God.
All is does is upset the Christian. And I get upset if my hair doesn't turn out right sometimes, I let that go when I lived in Minnesota and had to wear a balaclava all winter.
Just tossing in my two cents. See ya,

Very well put, and thank you for your insight on the use of temple in Paul's epistles. It is an interesting way to look at it. As we were taught, a word or words must always interpret themselves in light of their previous usage and in their context, so your point is well made. As for "things to come" it could in fact have a double meaning. Bullinger talks a lot about this in work on prophecy and in figures of speech. I guess we will know for sure when it is fulfilled. I for one am getting prepared. I am cleaning up my life and taking care of my side of the street. God bless!

We as Christians are so given to speculation as to what when where, why and how of the end-times that I think we miss the preparation, especially in regard to the aforementioned "rapture (their term, not yours), that we may have never considered that the timing of what we've been led to believe might be off. In that case have we truly prepared our hearts to endure should the times get hard, or do we have the "I'm outta here" mentality that has been prevalent in the community of the saints.
What if..... and I could go on, but in regard to "the anti-christ" (of which 1 John gives us all the qualifiers for them), what if the whole "temple in Jerusalem jive" is down the wrong path. I say this because the word used for "temple" in the scriptures, specifically the Pauline Epistles is never used in the context of a physical temple. Paul always relates it to the spiritual body of Christ. Therefore, I Thessalonians has to be looked at with that understanding rather than what we've been told about that the temple has to be rebuilt (not until Ezekiel's in the millennium).
2.3 "Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
2.4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
Could the Church really be that deceived to allow that. Hasn't it been in other areas. The Boy Scouts at least have it right. "Be Prepared!"
