Hi Karen, This is Elaine Landmark and I am trying to place you because I am sure that we must have crossed paths at HQ or Emporia some of those years. Anyway, I really appreciated your perspective on trying to understand and interpret Joe's dream. Since most of the discussion went in another direction, I wanted to answer you directly about the dream you posted. I feel sure it is from God and I would like to suggest some possible meanings. First of all, let me say that I believe a dream can be like receiving a message from God word for word, or it can also be more like a conversation where God and I are responding to each other. Anyway, here are some thoughts on your dream.
You said you had been called and were supposed to be at Emporia. I think that is pretty straight forward. It is as true spiritually as it was a pair of true events in your dream. Several things seem to point to the possibility that the essence of the dream is going to be about your individual experience and the specific benefit to you from the time at Emporia. Some of those markers (of individual stuff) are that you had a room to yourself, that others were going to their rooms and that all of your own stuff was there in your room. That it was set at twilight/day's end makes me think that it was about looking for what you get out of it when that chapter of your life (the Way Corps training) is finished.
So, you were looking for Dr. W. and when you finally found him he said there would be that envelope somewhere. Did he say it would be in your Bible or is that just where you found it? Anyway, here is what I believe is possibly the most important thing in the dream. Your Holy Spirit necklace was in the envelope in your Bible all shined up and found again. This is what Dr. W. did for your in real life. Before you were in the way or in the corps anyhow, you had experienced the power of the holy spirit (like with the dream about the party of witches!) And Dr. W. enabled you to grasp the working of the holy spirit from a Biblical basis which revived it in your life and set it for permanent wear like the necklace that you knew was yours all along.
Possibly the money and the assignment at the end of the dream are indicative of the comissioning you are still under and the fact that God is going to provide the means and the places for your to wear your shiny holy spirit dove, or more literally to live and minister by way of that spirit. And you will always have and be able to rely on the Biblical background that Dr. W's ministry helped you to gain.
