About Me
Moved to Alaska with my family in 1995. We live in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in the small town of Palmer. If you look on a map, it's about 45 miles north of Anchorage.
We have run Frontier Christian Ministries for the past 10 years and are very blessed. Our son Linus and his wife, Jackie, live not far from us. We have 2 beautiful grandsons, Malachi and Arin, and 4 granddaughters from Jackie's previous marriage. Also, our daughter, Lydia lives with us.
My Interests
I love animals and have raised Alaskan Malamutes since 1995. Our first, Boaz, came to live with us our first winter up here and since then, we have gotten a few more. Today, we have 4, 2 males and 2 females, but we are not planning to breed any of them. We lost our wonderful Boaz last December, he was 12.
I also like to quilt. Learned how in NY and have blessed many babies with nice, warm quilts since then!
Music I Like
I really like Matchbox 20 and Anna Nalick.
Books I Like
I like all kinds of books. I belong to a book club and we read all different genres. One of my favorites was "To Kill a Mockingbird." Also, "If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things."
Television I like
My Name is Earl, Lost and Prison Break

My daughter Jaymi (30) is married to Joshua and has a 3 year old daughter, Isa. She lives about 15mins from me....heavenly!
My son Andy, (28) is still single and lives about 3 mins from me!!!! He comes over and cuts my grass, changes lightbulbs, etc. I love that he is so close.
Paige (23!) is my youngest. She lives within 10 mins. She is finishing up her college years. She attends Herron School of Art (Part of Indiana University). She has about a year left.
I divorced Greg 4 years ago after years of uncertainty. I just couldn't get him to come home..... Saw and heard about too many women
friends. Guess he tired of me.
I'm having a great time though. Made the necessary adjustments and seem to be doing better than I ever imagined. Have a wonderful job and great friends. Still hang with Joanne Marples---who is now Joanne Richardson. I'm going to tell her about this web site!!!
I sew little things....little girl dresses, cuffs (which is a bracelet out of material) just little things...nothing like quilting!!!! you go girl!
I have to get to work.....we'll be in touch with each other, please. It's so good to see and hear from you two.
I love ya!

Hugs,
Cathy
Hope you had a great 4th. My daughter lives in Orlando where she has been teaching school for 10 years. Son and his wife live south of Miami. We are all looking to move to a more temperate climate and have narrowed it down to NC or Oregon. As all our family is in the East, OR is probably not going to win but we are still debating.
I'll have to put up some of my son's art. He has been doing grafitti for 13 or 14 years. He has a couple of walls in Miami and actually a few here in Tallahassee and in Gainesville. He has been unable to paint for about 3 years but wants to get back to it as soon as he can.
I have been so blessed connecting with people here again. I know I only spent one year in residence but really remember you and Linus with fond memories.
God bless,
Cathy
Your drawings are beautiful. My son Chris is an artist. He also designs tatoos and does some really fine grafitti. I'll have to put up some of his work.
I have gotten into making soap and I really enjoy working all the great natural oils, butters, herbs and fragrances into a great soap that is good for your skin. I sell it at local flea markets and craft fairs.
Hector is living in Ft Lauderdale. I see him once or twice a year when I go down to see the kids. His health is not good and he has put on a few lbs (that man had a 29" waist til he was 45) but he has the same smile and heart for God.
Good to hear from you!
Hugs,
Cathy
As a side note I work painting on tiles and never finished college... It sort of depends what field of art you're into.
If Lydia ever wants ideas on how to market her skills ... I've got a bunch!
Carolyn
P.S. you look gorgeous!!!
She's 19... in so many ways she reminds me of me at her age... a bit on the wild side.... loves animals, majoring in art...
How's Lydia?

Life here in central PA is great! Not as warm or slow as NM but not as cold or fast paced as NJ/NY area either. The Word continues to move and grow leaps and bounds in this area. Few years back we had a rabbit attack and now there are many many young men/women in the young teen arena as well as elder teens/young 20's. My baby Elisse will be 23 next week and after graduation from college this summer is going to teach early childhood education! Imagine that when she herself is still a baby!!!! If you check out my page you'll see all the other stuff. I have pics of Chris and his family, my grand kids etc. I am very blessed here and the fellowship of believers is great. God continues to bless me abundantly. Please give my XXOO to all (I really can't believe you guys hung it out in AK for sooo long but I'm sure you are blessed there. They need some good NYorkers there to set things right in the snow. Stay in touch. Agape......Laura
Love you,
J
