About Me
I am doing pretty well, thank God. Life on this earth can be pretty wacky but I am (still) learning to walk better with Him, so I am optimistic about the future. Since I plan to live to about a zillion years old, I have a lot of plans. At this point, I am close to being free from the Mr. Mom role, which has been primary in my world for the last 18-19 years. So I'm excited about the possibilities.
My Interests
Single guy for too long, proud dad of a 21-yr-old daughter I raised myself, having fun in the sun. I want to find someone to share the rest of my life with. There's so much I want to do, but not alone anymore. A dream come true would be to be able to travel to wherever the needs are, as God leads, and to have the joy of helping others a lot more. I've had little tastes of wealth, auto racing, travel, etc. and I like them very much (!), but they do pale in comparison to the most exciting activity, that of being actively In His Service.
Employment or Career
Architect working on becoming financially independent so I can be free (I have some miles to go before I get there).
Music I Like
Everything as long as it's really good... except rap and hip-hop. My favorite is old jazz and big band, like Ella, Satchmo et al. I like Madeleine Peyroux and Sympathique, and sometimes I listen to classical in the car, but I have to admit I that although I like it, I don't know much about it. And then, when the feeling hits, I'll just rock out for a while on some actual modern stuff that my daughter turns me on to.
Books I Like
The Bible, self-improvement, leadership and life-success books, and an enjoyable novel or two now and then. James Lee Burke is pretty good, especially his later stuff.
Television I like
Turner Classic Movies, auto racing, not much else, usually...
Movies I like
Old ones, foreign stuff, and now and then Hollywood actually produces something worth seeing. Frank Capra, Billy Wilder, Bogart, etc. I think my daughter has watched Wuthering Heights and Little Women each about 4,000 times.
Sports Teams I like
Ferrari Formula 1 team ,but most pro sports now seems like big business more than anything, so I tend to gravitate towards more grass-roots stuff. We went to the vintage races on Coronado Island (San Diego), and there one could hang out with everyone from blue collar guys giving it a go in their home-built old Chevys to millionaires with their one-of-a-kind Le Mans classics, and all were friendly and enjoying each other's company. I think a lot of sports are like that now, by which I mean if you look for heart you can find it.

I've been meaning to write back since I got your note but was trying to wait till I had more than just a minute- the stuff of life has been keeping me pretty occupied this past week, or as you say, the past 17 or 18 years, LOL! Justine is gorgeous; there's a lot going on behind those eyes. And God bless you real, real big for your commitment to Daddyhood! As my kids would say, "holla"!
I have lots of ideas about the reunion possibilities & I know a gang of us will be inspired to put our heads & hearts together & come up with a perfect plan. I'm happy & proud to be on the team. How about you? Are your innards stirring? Are you feeling inclined to enlist your ideas, efforts & a bit of time? If not us, who? (whom?) LOL! It will be fun & certainly challenging to put together. I appreciate you re-posting my comments from a few weeks ago. There are already quite a few people who have a lot of experience with these things on this site I can ask to help & I'm sure there will be a great deal of excitement & support. Cyberspace is a great way to reconnect, but it's still no substitute for a hug!
I gotta come clean on the pharmacists daughter. I plagerized it from an old Zap Comix bit. I couldn't come up w/anything worth a crap on my own. Sorry, man
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. We have in-laws in town.... been busy but fun...
Yeah it'd be fun to get together....My home phone # is in the book...I'd put my cell up here but I still owe Dave Wilson a pack of smokes 'cuz I bummed one off him in res and I don't want his collection agency harassing me all day...Sometimes,I go to a place called Randy's over on Chapparell and Hayden---they have the best bacon in town...Peace out and thanks for checking in...
Love ya......... Kim says hi too
It is good to hear from you. It's quite an accomplishment to become an architect, while raising a little girl.
Thanks for writing. This is quite a site. I am a little slow with the new technology. But its sure great when it helps move God's Word. It always blesses me to find old friends continuing to live God's Word. I do get to Scottsdale a couple of times a year on business. Would be nice to get together.
God Bless
Steve
Yeah, Bruce's stuff is great. Glad to see your smiling face.

I went to your website and listened to the teaching on joy. I enJOYed it very much, partly because it was a real JOY to hear your voice after so long, and partly because I could not help but reJOYce in the words that were spoken, which were sweeter than honey! What a nice ministry y'all have there. Yes, perhaps some day not too far off I can come to one of your fellowships or something. In the mean time, be well and God bless you and yours.
Oh, I almost forgot about my silly remark about the box. It's just that when I saw your profile, many old memories came back. When we were in Terre Haute, you and I went to check out a little brick house (which we rented). The landlord took us down into the basement at one point, and you and he stood looking at the open-front box which had soil in it and foil-lined walls. It appeared that the two of you couldn't figure out why folks would construct such an item in their basement unless they wanted tomatoes or something year-round. At the time (no doubt a result of my, uh, questionable background) I chuckled, convinced it would be used only to grow marijuana. Well, maybe I was right... but maybe they DID like tomatoes. That's all. Love - S.
It's been a long time, but I sure have sun memories of hanging out. My sister Susie asked about you recently. Until now, I didnt know where you ended up. So this is great to re-connect. Much love Lynn
