We must remember that there are two powers, and only two, that have power over everything in this time. Of course, we know they are the God and Father of our lord Jesus Christ and the devil. Or, the true God and the god of this world. The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Jesus Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;" Ecclesiastes 3:1,2a
"...he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die..." from Hebrews
We know the cycle of life. There is death in that cycle, for now, because of Adam's transgression. Jesus Christ paved the way to end that, by his sacrifice. So, even though we will all die of something, if the lord tarries, we have this hope: Eternal life.
I recommend that one doesn't consider the Corps to be a criteria in believing (or not). Each of us is an individual believer. Each born-again one has the power and authority that Christ had on this earth. That is the mystery. It is solely one's choice to operate the authority and power or not. Read Ephesians, again, from the point of view that it is not written to the individual believer, but to the body of believers. How individuals operate in the body. It's a real eye-opener.
God is always there. Whether we go to Him or not doesn't change what He is able and willing to do for us. If we say we trust Him and don't get delivered, does that make God a liar? God forbid."I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
I said in my haste, All men are liars.
What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:10-15
So, Pamela, there are some keys to deliverance. Trusting God and His Word; abundantly sharing someplace; speaking in tongues, because He wants us to; thanking God whenever we eat or drink anything for the sacrifice of His son for us; communion. He says to prove Him. These are ways to do so.
God bless your heart.
