I am so glad you touched base.
I have often looked for you through public telephone directory and was unsuccessful.
I am excited to reclaim our relationship. I will get back to you soon.
Thank you everyone for all your prayers.
This story is a crazy one of God's deliverance. Last monday when I got the call from my sister I text everyone I could and called even more and e-mailed even more people to pray. My sister Martie did the same. Roberto Martinez forwarded my e-mail all over the world and within a short time we had rallied many many to pray. Many of you prayed with your fellowships as well as your private prayers.
In the meantime my brother-in-law, Sam was rushed to the hospital with an excrutiating headache that when they had done a lumbar puncture and found blood in his spinal fluid, concluded that he had had a stroke and moved him to another hospital. When he arrived at St. Josephs hospital, the second hospital, the neurologist said he had already made rounds and would see him tomorrow.
We waited until Tuesday to find out how he was. By tuesday they discovered that the fluid around his brain was seeping out into his spine. They also discovered that he had viral meningitis. He hadn't had a stroke at all. When they did an MRI they discovered that the fluid was seeping from the place that the other hospital had done the lumbar puncture and that during the first 24 hours he had not been seen, all the fluid had drained from around his brain. Everytime he moved his brain was hitting against his skull. They did a blood patch to fix it. When they told him that all the fluid had drained out, they also told him that his brain had swollen and that it had been drawn down into where the brain stem is. It was beginning to cut off the blood flow to his brain. He should have died. The only care he was getting during that first 24 hour time period was the prayers that we were saying. God saved him when the doctors were neglecting him.
This is the power of prayer. He is fine now and has no residual effects from the problems. God is good. The anti-viral medication worked for the meningits and the swelling on his brain is gone. The blood patch held to retain the fluids around his brain and the fluids are replenished. God is very good to his people when we trust him and pray.
I had to share this story with you. I think it is a wonderful example of the power of prayer.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Love,
Judy

Hi Leslie! I've thought of you many times over the years. You're such a good lady. I pray life has brought you much happiness. You deserve it girl! I'm very happily married for almost 14 years, have my own business, a very busy social life, a great, wacky family, a beautiful cottage in the country and all the love I could ask for! I'm mentoring young ladies (in their 20's) with self esteem issues and writing children's books. I'll take a breath now! I love you & hope to hear from you when you get a chance. Tovah
I can't even remember the last time I saw you. HOW ARE YOU? It's nice to know where you are and that you are married. I can't believe you didn't move back to Iowa...not really. I barely made it out alive! I remember Gordy James, who I was in the College Division with the year before we were WOW's, greeted me at the ROA 1980 by saying: "What the hell happened with you on the WOW field? God had me praying for you all year!" (needed that) I'm much better now...thanks for asking :) I'm back fellowshipping with The Way after my "mark and avoid" years. I'm so thankful to know God and His Word and to fellowship with the ministry that taught me God's Word. I know I owe my life to the ministry that saved it and I'm glad I can help it reach out to others who want the truth as it hasn't been known since the 1st century. The Word still lives as we live it...Way Ministry or not. I just think it's better to stand together as a body of believers...well, it's not my idea, that's what God thinks and He's got the best way of thinking there is, so what the hell, how can you improve on that?
I'd love to hear from you and find out what you've been up to for the last 20+ years since I've seen you.
I have to add another comment because I just saw my friends David and Judy Snyder on this page and realized you have lived in New Hampshire, which is where we are now. Imagine. Anyway, if you ever come back this way...
Hi, Leslie. Just saw your name here and wanted to connect. I know Christopher will send his greetings as well. His mother and sister live in Ashland, Oregon, and we visited last fall when his father passed away. Are you far from there? I can't wait to go back. Really enjoyed the town and the Shakespeare Festival. Good to "see" you again.
