About Me
My wife, Jenivee (who was never in The Way) and I live in Bloomington, IN, in a big house built in 1926 that sits on top of a hill and has a porch with a beautiful view, which we both love. Bloomington is the home of Indiana University, the largest university in IN, with 40,000 students, so I feel right at home in the academic environment.
I married Jenivee (formerly Jenivee Rogers) in 1986. She is a real estate agent, and as well as that is currently in school taking certification to be a Spiritual Director, she helps run BOGA (Bloomington Organic Growers Association), and does all manner of things in the community, our church, and around the house.
My daughter Sierra is now Sierra Tinsley, and lives in Charlotte, NC. She works in personnel management and placement, and her husband works in commercial banking.
Sam is a US Marine (Special Forces) and has served two tours in Iraq. He fought in the battle of Fallujah. He is supposed to live near Camp Lejeune, NC, but he is not home much.
Karly lives near us in Bloomington, and is a certified nurse assistant.
My Interests
I enjoy fishing and hunting (and have now taken 6 deer--3 shotgun, 3 black powder), and enjoy gardening with my wife (but I enjoy eating the organic stuff we grow even more). We also have a few chickens, and although they are messy and quite adept at escaping their cage, I love the fresh eggs! And, of course, I love to read and learn.
Employment or Career
I am one of the few and privileged people on the planet who gets to work at something he loves. Since 1992 I have been a full-time minister with Spirit & Truth Fellowship International (formerly Christian Educational Services). I spend much of my life reading, studying, writing about, and teaching, the Word of God. Since 1986 when I was released by The Way, I have been back to seminary for some courses, returned to Israel 5 times, been to Greece and Rome, and done mission trips to the Philippines, South Africa, and Haiti, and teaching itineraries in many countries. I have written or co-written a number of books and dozens of articles on the Word of God.
Music I Like
I am not a huge music fan. I study in quiet, like to eat when it is quiet, go to sleep best when it is quiet, and of course fish and hunt quietly. I do like some of the modern Christian music, and if I have a genre I especially like, it would be ballads. For example, I love songs like "Too Small a Price," "He's Alive," or Voyage to Gennesaret" by Don Francisco.
Books I Like
Well written theological treatises.
Television I like
History channel.
Movies I like
I like family friendly material, especially when it is based on true stories. I have grown an aversion to movies with gratuitous sex and sexual innuendos, cussing, and unnecessary violence.
Sports Teams I like
I am afraid I am a fair-weather, "local team" sports fan. When I was in Kansas City, I liked the Chiefs. When I lived in Charlotte, NC, I liked the Panthers and Hornets (before they left town). Now that I am close to Indianapolis, I like the Colts (hey, they won the Superbowl. My first winning team). The only allegiance that seems to travel with me wherever I am is my love for the UNC Tarheels. GO HEELS!

I am praying for your son and his complete healing. God is with him. There is a movement methodology that may help him. It helps kids with cerebral palsey, and stroke victims, etc. It's called the Anat Baniel Method and it is nothing short of miraculous. A friend of mine is a practitioner and has helped my son a lot and me also. She has a son with cp and it has helped him tons. A school friend of her sons with cp went from wheel chair bound to walking without help. It is not a "woo woo" type thing. It is based on the work of Moshe Feldenkrais. The website is www.anatbanielmethod.com.
I also wanted to tell you about my husband Gary's page on this website. He is doing "Tidbits of Truth". (I may jump in and add my two cents in the future.) He has great insites into God's word. For example the gospel passage about "On this I will build my church". The greek male and female uses explains "on what" Christ will build his church. I think it will be on "Tidbits" soon.
And one final comment - can you have "One God and One Lord" mailed to every church leader in the country? Well, I wish you could. But I would like Spirit and Truth to make up T-shirts with the logo you guys put on the cover of the book. I would wear it everywhere.
Blessings to you, Cathy
BTW, Lena went to Bloomington for Grad School. She still talks about the area and how much she enjoyed her time there.
Ron Johnson and I send our love and our thoughts and prayers are with you. If you need anything, please feel free to ask.
Love,
Ron and Janis
