Thank you for the sweet note! You seem very happy, too. As I write this, my husband is outside working with the sander, on a frame for some art that he's making; my son is playing Monopoly in the next room with our neighbor boy (they play like brothers, and also sometimes argue like brothers!); our older girl is at Architechture studio (she'll be an architecture junior at the University of Oklahoma this Fall, and is one of the reasons I sometimes think of that wonderful sweetie, Arvid; please give him my greetings if you run into him!); our youngest girl is probably just arriving on the bus at Girl Scout Camp, somewhere in the boondocks of Oklahoma (in Africa, they would call it "the interior," but we have no lions, only cows and wheat); and our oldest is off in Tucson, Arizona, as an almost-senior in college, and a pretty responsible adult-type person. So, one of four is out of the nest. (The oldest girl lives right next door.) Days can be very full, but you are right; they are generally happy. I hope that your days are full of joy and the good kinds of challenges that we all face. Your work as a home health provider must have been extremely rewarding; you are a very giving person. It's really something to be able to re-connect with people through this website; John did a wonderful thing when he started it.
Happy July! Vickie
Your daughter is beautiful, just like you! Thank you for being so kind years ago; you taught me to do a French braid, and were always so very cheerful. It was a pleasure to know you, and it's wonderful to read that you are happy, seeking, and enjoying your life. Do you ever run in to Arvid Ronning? He was such a sweetie-pie. Have a fantastic birthday!
Vickie
God bless you.
You are right - we were in residence together. It was my father who spoke some Icelandic. I still haven't learned any (I am currently focused on French, living in Quebec), but I have a guide to some important Icelandic phrases. I've also gotten more invoived in my ancestry, reading sagas, joining the Icelandic Society, and we are possibly going to go to Iceland this summer. It would be my first trip (We may explore a possible movie based on Icelandic history).
I think I remember you quite well. I recall that you were very serious about God and the Word, yet you had a light heart. I also remember that you were very edifying and refreshing to talk to.
That's a beautiful picture of you and your daughter. You look wonderful together.
I have to say (again) that I am very thankful for this site and the ability to reconnect with friends. I'm not really that good at writing letters (I agonize over the wording too much), but staying in touch and catching up like this is great.
It's a belssing to see you looking so well, doing so well, and enjoying life so much. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Glen
PS (There is an interesting Icelandic movie we saw recently, Börn náttúrunnar (Children of Nature), which we found very ionteresting. If you haen't seen it (it's from 1991), you may enjoy it if you can find it.)
it has been half a lifetime ago, but very nice to catch up again, both you and your daughter look fabulous and very blessed, that's a good thing! I will add you to my VIAGGIO group, and In the Psalm of His hands! If it gets to be to much, just ask to be taken off,,,I share one chapter of God's word week day, and on Sunday I share one Psalm,,, stay in touch my friend. love, paul
I am sorry but he just returned about 4-5 days ago. He loves it there so I know he will visit again and I will make sure he stops by. He's nice and easy going. You would like him. Thanks so much for your invitation. You know when you come to the states we have to get together!!
Blessings,
