Thank you for the update on Ken. I enjoyed my many talks with him years ago and have often thought of him. He communicated his excitement about the Word to those he knew and I was always thankful for the contact I had with him in Albion.

  • Happy birthday Gerard. The very best to you this day.

  • Hello Gerard! I see that today is your birthday! It's nice to see your name and face again. I hope you have a special day!!! God's best to you. Donna
  • Gerard, Have a very Happy Birthday, my friend!! Love you, Mike
  • Yes, it was good to see you! Please tell Jean Louis (with a french accent!) I said Hi too!!! So many people bring such fun memories back!
    God Bless You!
  • Hi Gerard, I'm planning to. I've been to the Monday & Wednesday... it was awesome!!! Susie Axtel (Susie Wassung) has been going too. Hope to see you there!
  • This is the first time I've been on the site since February, and you'll be interested to know that I managed to look up and see Kenny Leik last week. He's more out there than ever, but still the same sweet guy. Ron thanked him for turning me on to the Lord, and we had a nice though extremely short visit. We were in MI 2 weeks and en route from Ann Arbor to Novi (just off I-96 a bit west of Detroit) to have dinner and spend our last night with my 1st cousin Larry. That's when I got a call that eventually led to learning where Kenny was (just outside of Jackson--fortunately on the east side), so Larry agreed to a very late supper and Ron & I drove all the way back to Jackson to visit Kenny (for half hour) before returning all the way back to Novi. It was crazy but I'm thankful for the connection. Kenny needs friends too--rather desperately if you ask me.
Two days earlier we'd been all over Jackson. I tried to locate where the Jeltema house was, but Jan didn't remember the street name, and we looked for the dead end street around the prison location, but since the trip and talking further with Jan, I think we were close by to the wrong prison location. Anyway, she now thinks it was Burt Ave.

By the way, though this is way before your time, we DID locate the one-room schoolhouse I attended back in 2nd and 3rd grade. The guys who live there left the main room as one big room, and the blackboards are still intact at each end!
  • Thanks for your reply, Gerard, and give my love to Debbie. We lived in Charlotte NC 1996-98, and still have friends in NC. Have you lived there long?
  • Yes, that is Moses with Unreached Villages. I first learned about him through a friend who went to Rameswaram sp? with Larry Coker several years back. Then I saw him personally at an event at a church where Dale Sides was. Then I learned about Unreached Villages somehow through giving to Moses.
Regarding our dog Shiloh, you can also see her on video through our local newspaper: www.observer-reporter.com. Search archives for Shiloh and you should find both the brief article and video. On the same site, if you go to BLOGS and drop down to "Behind the Lens," you'll find the pictures that were actually printed in the newspaper. Go down to the Dec 1 pix.
  • Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating your birthday and enjoying God's many blessings!
  • Hey Gerard,
Great to see you brother and was nice to be able to just sit and chat.
    Bless you,
    Ted
