We logged on at the same time.
My family is from Sicily, Licata actually, if you've heard of it.
I would love to go visit our family's heritage one day.
Where in Sicily was your Dad. We had only one day in Sicily on this trip, Messina and time did not permit us to travel any further than Messina.
Messina is not very scenic, but the people were warm. It was really awesome sailing away we got to circle Mt Stromboli, which is an active Volcanic island. Crazy people live right at the base, because the Lava always flows on the other side, amazing.
Love and blessings,
Donna
Have you been back to Italy since your Interim year?
There is so much to see there. Before we left I already wanted to go back.
We almost moved to NC back in 1989 and then we decided on Sarasota instead. The believers we knew from NC made such a wonderful impression on us, it drew us to consider moving there. How do you like NC?
Your daughter looks so much like you. How is it you have not aged like at all?
Good timing getting to my site, I just put the pix on today, glad you enjoyed them. ;)
Love and blessings to you,
Donna
I've been meaning to drop you a quick note and say, "Hello". Your life sounds wonderful, I'm glad you have done so well. I have fond memories of you and our times together in The Way Corps. I finally made it to Italy for the first time this past summer. Our family had such a great time, we saw Rome, Pisa, Venice, Naples, & Messina Sicilily.
We almost moved to NC in 1989, but ended up Sarasota, Fl where both our children were born. Now we are in Seattle.
All the very best to you!
Love,
Donna
I LOVED being able to catch up with you on the phone!! I still marvel at your family picture and how ageless you are. You are beautiful and your family is too.
You are one of the dearest... and I loved being in The Bronx and having you close by, and then loved that next year when we lived together in Pelham Manor. I remember it all so clearly. Thank you for being so great.
If I am ever heading in your direction I will try to see you again. Neat that you live in an equestrian area with bridle paths and have a horse in the backyard... very cool. I really would love to get to see you again, so maybe one of these days!!
You are special to me!!
Love You!!

Lydia was into Game Art and Design. She was interested in video game design. Her art work at the time was a lot of the same stuff you see in a video game. She would have to have gotten a place in Phoenix, which wasn't cheap, even with what they called "school" housing. We applied for the same loans you did with the same deal of re-payment. But she decided she really wasn't ready to move to Phoenix.
She has since changed her art style and does a lot of different types of art now. She mostly draws, but she is really good at it. I'll post a couple of her drawings on my page in photos so you can see. Right now she is hoping to start an apprenticeship at a local tattoo shop. She was working as a receptionist at another shop, but that one went out of business. The woman who ran it couldn't handle the business and her family. Lydia was supposed to apprentice there, but...
So, what kinds of ideas for marketing her art can you suggest? I'd be interested to know.
And thanks for the compliment!
Talk to you soon, Sue
Lydia is doing well. Still trying to figure out her life. She is also an artist. A good one at that. She was planning on going to the Art Institute of Phoenix, but things didn't work out and besides that, the Art institute is really, really expensive! So she's here with us until she decides what to do. I'm fine with that, she can stay as long as she likes.
Sue
I was looking at your photo, your daughter looks a lot like you. How old is she now?
Sue
Yes. life sure runs past you! Sometimes it's hard to keep up, but I am blessed. We run a small "church" here in the Valley where we live and it has been a blessing for the past 10 years. We do regular Sunday morning fellowships there with monthly brunches and ladies fellowships that include trips to Anchorage to the nurseries. It's been a lot of fun and the fellowship is sweet. Linus remains as committed as ever and God has blessed him abundantly.
I'll put some photos up as soon as I figure out how and I'll show you what my Malamutes look like. We also have Sebastian the cat and a red-tailed Boa Constrictor named Nagaina (like in Rikki-Tikki-Tavi).
Good to hear from you. Keep in touch.
Sue
I am still trying to find Bernadette for you. The last I knew she was i north Carolina. Please tell Michael to drop me a line or call on the weekends. my email is craefish1@aol.com. Thanks
Well, I got an approval so you can find ME here now. I also have a lot of fond memories from our days in the Bronx. That seems like a million years ago, doesn't it? And yes, Alaska is very different from the Bronx!! We are doing well and I really love it here. I have a nice house and some wonderful dogs. They are Giant Alaskan Malamutes
and they are the loves of my life. My daughter, Lydia, is 22 years old now. Still living at home with us. My son, Linus IV, also lives upo here. He is married and I have 2 grandsons (and 4 granddaughters from my daughter-in-laws previous marriage). The boys, Malachi (5) and Arin (3) are very cute.
Anyway, gotta run. I am happy to be back in touch with you.
Sue
