"Hi again! Yes, here in OC since graduation.......hard to believe. I was actually here between our two years in residence as well, so I think I almost feel like a native. (I was from IA and had gotten into the word there in '80.) I stay in contact…"
"HI Wayne.......So good to hear from you after all these years. Last month I found and was reading my Corps journal and was wondering about so many things and people. I then found this sight and am excited about these 'blasts from the past'. Why were…"
I am so glad to hear you were not affected by some of the things that went on. Wow, you have spent a lot of time in OC! Definately a nice place to live! I remember Gayle. Yes, I do remember the Staff Follies, and the song by the Police. In fact, every time I hear that song I remember JAL playing it for us in Kenyon Hall and saying something like this was his heart for us. AL is ok, my family is here and I grew up here. In fact, just last weekend I drove by the park where I was witnessed to in March of '76. I had lunch with Wes. He and his wife live about 50 miles north of me. I met up with Mark and his wife almost two years ago. They are in TN. The only ex-way friend I had here at home died last spring. I had known him since I first came to twig. Going back to in-residence events. I remember our first year having the Knights and Vikings Do. Do you recall that?
Thank you, It is so good to hear from you as well. It was many years ago, but at times it seems like yesterday. I bet that was very interesting reading your journal. I am glad to hear at least someone kept theirs, lol! I was very bad about keeping mine. However, I was good about getting my aeorbic points in each week.
My time in OC was due to a job transfer. I began working for a company in Dallas shortly after graduation. As things began to go downhill with twi a transfer to Houston came up so I cut the cord. Then a year later off to So CA. I lived in Huntington Bch and absolutely loved it. The company was sold so I moved back home to AL.
In the last 2 years I have met up with Mark Wilcox and Wes Bayers. I agree with the mealtimes with JAL. I also enjoyed the 'afterglo' meetings on Sunday nights. Yes, I was at HQ then also. I'm thinking it may have been spring when Rick was the twig coor @ emporia. He was also an area coor at that time. Any corps around you? Have you been in Tustin since graduation?
I can still see your warm smile. Rick Sanders (10th) was our twig coor at emporia the first year in residence. I believe it was near the end of that year. Funny, I lived in Orange County from 88-96.
Hi Barb -
I"ve thought of you so many times over the years. Figured I'd lost you till the return. Just found this site and so far am pleased with it as it seems Christ centered. It seems also to be frequented by those who remember their committment to serve the body of Christ rather than just bash and blame. I have many good memories of The Way one of which is long conversations with you after finding each other at ROA.
Hey Barbara,
Just read through your profile information (I'm a bit of a sticky beak!) and noticed that you like movies with redemptive themes. Last night I watched "Spitfire Grill". Have you ever seen that movie?
Love,
Sarah
This site is great fun. You can catch up with old friends and find out what they've been doing. There are pictures and photos to see, ideas to share, and music to listen to.
Go ahead and click on some of the TABS just under the Way Corps header picture at the top - to start finding out what is happening here and what you can do. If you click on the "Help and Tips" tab, you will find a basic guide to navigating our site and you'll see how to connect with old friends, customize your page and lots more.
On your profile, please include as much as you like about yourself. You can add more details, or change and delete information later.
Many members have posted pictures of their children and families, as well as their hobbies and interests. Perhaps you have some photos you'd like to share too.
As you look around, you may have a few questions. There are answers in the "Help and Tips"section.
If you get stuck, please feel free to contact me or John (site originator) or any other members who have been here a while. I will be glad to help if I can. Just send me a message.
Welcome, it's good to have you here. Enjoy yourself!
